Silver Jewelry Making
Silver jewelry making is one of Bali's most celebrated traditional crafts, and in Ubud — the island's arts capital — you can learn it directly from a master silversmith. At Pondok Pekak, your class takes place in the heart of Ubud, just steps from the Monkey Forest, in a peaceful garden setting that makes the experience as memorable as what you create.
Your teacher will guide you through the fundamental techniques of Balinese silversmithing: shaping, soldering, and finishing sterling silver into a piece of jewelry you design yourself. No prior experience is needed — our teachers have guided thousands of first-timers through the process and know how to help every guest succeed.
The class price of Rp 650,000 per person includes 3 grams of sterling silver — enough for most ring and pendant designs. If your chosen design requires more, additional silver is available at Rp 80,000 per gram. You leave with a finished piece — a ring, a pendant, or a bracelet — made entirely by your own hands using centuries-old Balinese methods.
